About
Approach to therapy
My mission as a therapist is to help folks heal from the pain of their past and transform their relationships to themselves – and their lives – in the present.
My philosophy is rooted in humility. I strive to embody the openness and compassionate curiosity that I encourage in my clients. You can expect me to be warm, nonjudgmental and transparent. I’ll help you process your thoughts, offering feedback, insight and psycho-education along the way. I’ll hold space for the complexity of your feelings and support you in experiencing and working through them, together.
I also sincerely believe that humor is essential to healing and building resilience – not to mention the power of mutually recognizing both the joys and absurdities of being human. So, it would be fair to expect a bit of levity from time to time too.
I am committed to practicing with a trauma-informed, LGBTQI+ affirming, feminist and anti-racist lens. I am dedicated to staying engaged in the work of understanding and leveraging my own privilege.
My training as a social worker informs the values I hold as a psychotherapist — and as a person.
Here are a few of my fundamental beliefs:
that every person has an intrinsic capacity to heal
that every person is inherently deserving and worthy of love
that learning to accept ourselves as we are is the most effective means for change
that connection to and awareness of our bodies is a source of profound wisdom and healing
that human beings are wired for connection. We hurt in relationships, but relationships are also where we heal.
that recognizing the pervasive impact of oppressive social structures (racism, sexism, heterosexism, classism, ableism, ageism, etc.) on the collective is essential context for understanding and supporting individuals’ mental health.
that we absorb powerful societal messaging that negatively impacts both our self-worth and our ability to authentically connect to others — and that this can be un-learned.

Training & Experience
I’ve been licensed as a Clinical Social Worker in Pennsylvania since 2015 and in New Jersey since 2024. I received my graduate degree (MSW) from Rutgers University in Clinical Social Work in 2011 and my undergraduate degree (BA) in Clinical Psychology at the College of New Jersey in 2006.
I’m a member of the Pennsylvania Society for Clinical Social Work and have extensive training in the Sanctuary Model of trauma-informed care and trauma recovery. I earned a certificate in Somatic Attachment Therapy through the Embody Lab in 2023.
I’ve practiced psychotherapy across a range of settings including in-home and community-based services for children and their families, drug and alcohol outpatient and partial-care facilities, and a domestic violence shelter.
I completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training at Grace & Glory Yoga, an additional 100-hour teacher training at Palo Santo Yoga & Wellness, as well as a specialized trauma-informed teacher training via Street Yoga in 2016. I've taught yoga in both studios and therapy rooms.
About Me
I came to this work like so many of us therapists do, having had first-hand experience with the very struggles I've come to specialize in. That, and the profound kindness of my own first therapist, changed my life. She started me on a healing journey that has not only fostered profound growth in me as a person, but has also allowed me to pursue a career that is meaningful far beyond my wildest dreams. Shoutout to Carol!
Outside the office, I like to read, listen to music, ride bikes, and bake vegan treats. I try to move my body on the regular, practice stillness and rest as often as I can, and stay going to therapy. I believe that a whole-person approach to well-being is essential, and I do my best to practice what I preach.
