FAQs

I offer a free 15-minute video chat for prospective clients. This is an opportunity for us to connect and for you to ask any questions you may have about me, how I can help, or the therapy process itself.
-
The initial session is where I get to know you better! In this session, I’ll ask about your history, about what has brought you to counseling, and about what you’d like to get out of our work together. We’ll spend some time clarifying your goals and discussing how I can support you in achieving them.

My office is in Collingswood, NJ and is highly accessible via public transportation from Center City Philadelphia and all other points along the PATCO line. There is also a dedicated parking lot for your convenience.

For most folks, I recommend starting with weekly appointments in order to establish the foundation we’ll need to begin making consistent progress towards your goals. If we go too long between appointments at the start of therapy, we’ll likely spend our time playing catch-up instead of being able to get to the heart of the work. Once we gain some momentum, we can discuss spacing out appointments to best fit your needs.
-
Email and text messages are sent out 48 hours in advance to remind clients of their scheduled appointments. I ask that you give at least 24 hours notice if you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment. If not, you will be charged the full session rate. If an emergency arises, please contact me and we can discuss next steps.

I accept all major credit cards, Venmo, PayPal, and Health Savings Account or Flexible Spending Account cards.

I do not accept insurance at this time. If you’d like to use insurance to cover your sessions, I would be considered an out-of-network provider (OON).
-
Some insurance plans provide out-of-network (OON) benefits that will cover a portion of the cost through out-of-network benefits. I can provide you with documentation (known as a “superbill”) to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Please check your coverage carefully by asking your insurer the following questions:
Do I have out-of-network coverage for outpatient mental health treatment?
Is there a deductible that I need to meet? If so, how much have I met so far?
How much will my insurance reimburse for my costs? (this is typically a percentage of the rate per session)
Does the insurance limit the number of sessions that I have for outpatient mental health?
Where and how do I submit my out-of-network superbill?

Beginning January 1, 2022, federal law requires health care practitioners to provide current and potential clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance a “Good Faith Estimate” (GFE) on the cost of treatment.
This new law is designed to provide transparency to clients regarding their expected medical expenses and to protect them from surprises when they receive their medical bills.
You may prefer finding a therapist who accepts your in-network insurance, rather than paying out of pocket.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate or the dispute process, click here or call (800) 368-1019.
